Is it fall? Starbucks says YES, Publix says NO.

Is it fall? Starbucks says YES, Publix says NO. Today marks the highly anticipated first day of Pumpkin Spice Latte at Starbucks. Personally, I’ve been thinking about Pumpkin Bread for weeks and gave it yesterday. After scouring the aisles for Libby’s canned pumpkin and debating with my husband Brian whether pumpkin is vegetable or fruit and asking “why is not where it should be?” the Store Manager embarrassingly told me that Publix made a bad decision to make canned pumpkin a seasonal item. (WHAT?) It won’t make it’s debut for another month, on October 1st. He said it was a very bad decision and lots of people are already asking for it and he has to send them to grocery rival, Kroger. There’s not much they can do about it now since retailers plan so far in advance.

PRE-PLANNING is key! What is your company doing now to maximize results in 2010? Want to re-energize your brand and consider creative alternatives to get you noticed and connect your message with the hearts and lives of your audience? I highly recommend attending the Brand Builders Expo. The Atlanta event is Wed 9/9/09, other cities include Tampa, Boston and Seattle. Free lunch for registered attendees, registration is FREE and there’s lots of FREE flowing ideas!

By the way, pumpkin is officially a fruit, but modern society commonly refers to it as a vegetable, along with squash, tomato, cucumbers, green beans and bell peppers. Defining factor? Fruits have seeds, veggies do not have seeds. Here’s more info for the curious http://bit.ly/iyFUE
